So when I last left, I had finished teaching Summer School and was off to a relaxing Summer Break! (BOY WAS IT SHORT!) Kailee went to 4-H camp at Camp Sherwood Forest and had an AWESOME time. I have to say that the day of return she looked tired but happy, but by the end of the 5th inning that night at the ball game, she was exhausted and CRABBY!! I don't think much sleep takes place at the camp!

Ball Season ended for Kailee's team with a group of girls that discovered BOYS! and Boys were way more interesting than playing softball. The season for the most part was very hot and tiring! Kolin only played a few games on his t-ball team, after that we had to make a SUBSTITUTION and Karter became the t-ball player! Karter was great! Even though he was much smaller than everyone else on his team!! Both Boys received trophies for their efforts.

Kolin did continue to ride his horse this summer and that was AWESOME! Kolin also took his family on some amazing "Staycation" adventures! We went to the ARCH and Rode the Becky Thatcher Riverboat. It was such a beautiful day and we had so much fun. Grandma and Grandpa joined us. We also went to the Magic House. Kolin is part of the amazing VARIETY CLUB of ST. LOUIS and both events were sponsored by them. It was so much fun!
Kolin turned 8 in July and for his birthday we went to Six Flags and Chuck E. Cheese Pizza. We had a family birthday party for Kolin and Karter at the end of July. Karter turned 4 in August.
Our precious dog LEVI, passed away on July 26, 2009. We have had Levi before we had Kailee so it is like losing your first born. His health rapidly detoriated from the beginning of summer, even though he had been going to the vet and was on medication. He finally had a stroke and that was all. Here is the last picture of him.

I have to say that I am still taking it very hard to not have my LEVI with me. I know that he is still with me in spirit but it is just not the same! We decided that we would get another dog when the time was right. Well, Kolin decided the time was right about a week later. We went to the humane society to JUST LOOK! We really did not feel like we were ready for a new pet. Kolin did not like the noise at all. He did however like a cute little puppy named Sophie. Sophie was really rotten. She would dip her tail in her water bowl and flip it on Brian. Kolin thought that was hysterical!! Needless to say we ended up with Sophie.
Isn't she CUTE!!

Well, I think that brings us up to the present. I promise to do a better job with the blogging now that school is back in session! Hopefully!
If you get a chance, check out this link and DONATE to Kolin's Krew!! He is walking in the 1st Annual Step Up for Down Syndrome! It is very COOL!
