Karter's Field Day

Ok, so I had this posted yesterday, but then today I figured out how to make a video to go on the page instead of all the pictures! I am very excited about the video!
Field Day was so much fun!! Karter is had so much fun! He really loved the tug-o-war, boys vs. girls, and of course the BOYS won!!! Then we did the long jump, it was so cute to watch all the kids jump up and down. Karter didn't seem to get the fact that your supposed to jump FORWARD, he just kept jumping up and down!! It was really cute!! So, then it was off to a sack race, a running race, a medal ceremony and Finally ICE CREAM!! We had such a great day!! I hope you enjoy the video!

BBQ

This is just a quick little post about BBQ. I love BBQ! Doesn't everyone love BBQ? Sunday was a beautiful day. The boys and I played outside. Well first we had to wash out the "cars" so the boys could have races in them, sorry no pics, I was afraid the camera would get a little too wet if you know what I mean! Brian decided that it would be a perfect day to BBQ!! I was so excited! We had butchered this past winter with some great friends of ours, and we had some RIBS, yeah, I SAID RIBS, BABY BACK RIBS, to be more correct!! Brian really should open his own restaraunt! They were awesome! I just thought that I would post this pic of Kailee really enjoying herself and the BBQ!

Doctor's Appointment Wednesday (No pics)

Ok, so you all know that Kolin is forever going to the Doctor for something. Yesterday was his 3 month visit with the Eye Specialist. Kolin has had 2 eye surgeries already and will most likely have to have at least 2 more in the next couple of years. So, we are on the 3 month cycle with the Eye Specialist to make sure that we are keeping up with all his Eye needs. Especially since the boy refuses to wear his glasses!!!!! I have tried everything for him to wear them, but he just will not do it!! Anyway back to yesterday. My plan was to take both Kolin and Karter with me to the appointment at St. Louis Children's Hospital, then after the appointment we could make a little stop at the Zoo and check out some of the animals!! BOY was I wrong! Kolin's appointment was at 10 am and we did not leave the office until 1:45 pm. Talk about cranky, hungry people!! We were all bears by the time we left!!! But, I have to say that it was all good news for Kolin and he was amazing!!! This was the first time that he could read the letters on the eye tests!!! Ofcourse they had to be really big for him to see them all the way across the room, but he actually knew his letters!!!! We were so excited!! and the doctors were very impressed!! We will keep the same lenses this time but we are going to try a new frame, one from specs4us.com. They are specially designed for children with Down Syndrome, so hopefully he will wear them!! But who knows!! So after a very long and tiring day at the hospital, it was home for ball practice! Kolin did not go to his, HE WAS DONE for the day, but Kailee and I went to her's (I have to go, I am the coach). We finally ended our day around 9:30 pm, with everyone exhausted. Let's hope today is a lot less involved!!

Bike Ride Tuesday

So, I had Kolin's IEP meeting on Tuesday and it was a happy but sad moment. Kolin is going to 1st GRADE next year, YEAH!! but he has to leave his awesome teacher Mrs. Denbow!!! She is amazing! Kolin has grown so much these past 2 years with her, that I don't think I will know what to do without her teaching him. :( But I know that he is ready to move on and that will be great for him!!

After taking Kailee to dance and listening to her reviews from the last competition, which were very good, she did AWESOME there! I went home and the boys, and my parents let the boys ride their bikes. Kolin actually has a better bike, thanks to the Beaufort PTO, but it was at our house and we were at MAWMA's house so he road Karter's and Karter rode the trike. Here are a few bike pics!!

Just Another Manic Monday, OHHH!

So here we are again, Monday Morning! The sun is actually out! After a weekend of rain, it is a wonderful site to see the sun again! I know that April Showers bring May Flowers, but you can only take so much rain and clouds, and gloom! So, it is really refreshing to see the sun today.

Anyway, Friday evening was pretty amazing! I was given a FABULOUS massage at my own house. It was soooooo relaxing! I had my back massaged, legs, feet, arms, hands and even my head!! It was AMAZING! Thank you so much!! Then we went to eat at Kline's and that is always Great Food!!

Saturday was a very normal Saturday. Kolin had horseback riding at 9 and during the entire time he kept wanting to have ARTer (Karter) on the horse with him. So, Sally, the wonderful instructor that she is allowed Karter to get on the horse with Kolin! Check out these pics of the boys!

Then it was time for Kailee to go to MT practice!! After that we went home and Kailee practiced making her "HOW TO" project for school. She is making Oreo Cookie Truffles. She did an awesome job!! They were amazing and there are not any left! I think that she will do an amazing job in front of her class this week!! That was pretty much, all of our Saturday.

Sunday, we went to the store to help Brian prepare to leave for work out of town again. He is now working Jonesboro, AR. Not sure how long he will be gone, but at least it is work, and right now that is what is important, right!! So, I got him all packed up, and ready to go. Then Karter got to sing at the "Celebration" service at St. Paul's and we all went to watch him sing! BOY he really gets into his singing and dancing! It was a great time. He is the littlest one on the end! The message that the minister spoke about was also very important "The Right Touch". It was great. It made me remember how important it is to giving reassuring touches or words to everyone!!!including my 8th graders!!

Easter Weekend and Celebration!!

Here is a picture of Kailee's Easter Bunny that she made with the help of my friend Megan! She really helped save us! Kailee needed an empty gallon milk jug! There was NO way we were going to drink an entire gallon of milk in one evening so I called the Megan, cause I figured with the girls and her hubby maybe they would have an empty gallon jug laying around, so anyway here is the finished product: Cute huh!!

We finally got a few (and I do mean a few) days off from school for our "Spring Break". On Friday, I thought that everybody would sleep in and we would laze around the house in our jammys, daddy would fix us some breakfast, and eventually we would get dressed and take Kailee to her BFF's house for the Sleepover. Tell me, why it is that I have to literally drag my children out of bed every morning for school, but on a day off, they are bouncing down the stairs at the Crack of Dawn!!! WHY WHY WHY!!! That's ok, because my brother-in-law called me at 7:15 in the morning (he works nights, so this was right before he went to bed) to ask about Easter Dinner, then my nephew called around 8 am to say that he was on his way out! Crazy! I in returned called my brother to wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY at 8:15 in the morning (but he too, works nights and was on his way home from work). Then my neice and her NEW husband stopped by on their way HOME :( so sad here, in Washington (the state, not the city). I held it together during the wedding and the week after the wedding, but when they stopped by the cried like a baby!!! and Kailee cried too. It was crazy! I am going to miss them so much, but we have email, phones, texting, and this blog to keep in touch!! So, after that Brian and I and the boys went to the dreaded Wal-mart for Easter dinner shopping! That was a very expensive trip!

SATURDAY- started like any other Saturday! Kolin had horseback riding early in the morning but this time it was with an Easter Egg Hunt, on horseback! Very exciting. Even Pac-Man the horse got into with Bunny Ears!! Karter went with me, even though I told him to stay home with Daddy, it was really chilly and he already has a runny nose! But He did not listen and came any way! Here he is all bundled up! After horseback riding, it was home to clean the house and get ready for Easter. About 3ish Kailee called and needed me to come pick her up from her BFF's because her BFF had fallen and hurt her ankle and needed to go to the ER. So, I picked her up, then grandma surprised me with taking the kiddos home with her so my hubby and I could go out for my b-day which was Sunday. He figured that it would be over looked because of Easter being the same day, so we went to dinner. It was nice to just be the two of us, but our converstions did lean towards the kids! :) Then we walked our dinner off at Target!

Then Came EASTER! The Easter bunny visited our house and left a Wii game, a DVD, and way too much candy!!! Everyone got dressed up and we went to church! Even daddy got in on the fun of picture taking! Don't the kids look cute!! See what another wear out of our Wedding Clothes! So, both sides of our families came over for Easter at our house! We had a lot of food, and a lot of good times! People talked, shared stories, and just had a great time. It was really nice to see everyone and spend time together. After everyone left, I got to sit down and watch TWILIGHT! Thanks so much Joe and Gloria for the movie for my b-day! It is awesome!!! Then it was off to bed for us!

MONDAY- Our last day off :( So sad! I honestly did nothing all day except pay with the kids and do laundry! It was wonderful! I did make a nice dinner for everyone, and got backpacks ready for the next day! Baths were had, and jammy's were put on! Then a little snuggling and off to sleep for everyone!

NOT SO MANIC MONDAY!!

Here are some photos of the big day:

Let's just start with YEAH- the weekend is OVER! My "neice" got married this past weekend. It was such a fabulous wedding. All three kiddos were in the wedding. Kailee was the guest book attendant, candle lighter, and bridesmaid. Kolin and Karter were the ring bearers (and I guess, so was mommie!). Everyone looked so beautiful in their wedding clothes, or as Karter says "Dave Seville" clothes. Karter could not wait until it was time to put the clothes on, and he was even more excited that he got to wear them all day!! Friday night was rehearsal, and Karter fell asleep on the way there, so he really did not want to participate. Kolin did fine except he wanted to carry his leapster down the aisle not the pillow. That's ok! Kailee was WAY excited about getting "shave" her legs and wear high heels. So Friday was fun! No pictures, forgot the camera at home :(

Then came Saturday: We decided to keep Kolin's routine as normal as possible, SO off to horseback riding we went! He rides at 9:00 on Saturday mornings and he LOVES it! Then my wonderful parents came to get Kolin and Karter because I "Crazily" volunteered to do everyone's hair for the wedding, including the bride! Crazy!! So, Brian, Kailee and I left from horseback riding to go to the church to get ready! It was a crazy morning! but the Bride was GORGOUS as she walked down the aisle, I almost cried! Then it was pictures, pictures, pictures. Some at the church, some at Shaw's, and even more at the reception! We left the reception early, Crabby boys was the reason. Actually it was not BOYS, but BOY. Karter was a bear! NO nap can do that to someone! and I think MOM was a little on the crabby side too, I had to leave before CAKE, NO FAIR!!! ;) Anyway, Saturday was wonderful and emotional. My "neice" is moving over 2000 miles away now, and that is hard to take! But she is so happy! That is what really matters!
Now Sunday, let's just say WOW!!! I can not believe the change in the weather! The morning we went to church with no jackets, and no shoes for Karter, left those at the other church from the wedding! Then went to the Present opening with a light jacket and then OMG, it got COLD!
My week is actually wonderful! Kailee only has dance tonight, then the studio is on Spring Break until next Tuesday!! Only wish the Schools would do the same :)

Kailee Amazes Me

I swear that Kailee is the best daughter in the entire world! She is always helpful, only has a "smart" mouth in the morning and for the most part, does what she is told - with the exception of having a clean room! (I think that she is actually trying to see if she can get all of her clothes on the floor before MOM breaks and cleans everything up!, but NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! ☺) So here are a few pics of her last night at her Acro Gymnastics Expo! She is so beautiful!
